Gorgeous because Juanita’s line @JanbyJan is sexy and modern, also tailored and businesslike. In other words an emblem of feminine ideology.

JanbyJan’s proportions are all played out to an upbeat message of physical and professional confidence. Proving that one can look sexy and professional, all at once in her executive jackets and micro-mini’s with box pleats.

Once you are all dressed up in JanbyJans designs, you will always find somewhere to go.

Her designs are cut to flatter the curvy sculptures. The fabrics are soft so that they cling to the curves of the body.

Creative designer Juanita Amazu graduated at fashion business school, Lagos in 2017. She comes from a human resources management background, which helps her to cope with the challenges in management of over 20 staff members in her Ikoyi building, acquired in 2019.

She started in a one room unit in 2018 with two machines and two tailors. Her designs were exposed on social media and she worked with influencers. Customers grew to like her blazers with snatched in waists, brightly coloured shirts and matching skirts and trousers.

When the pandemic hit, her customers grew as they demanded jackets and blouses which headlined the Zoom/virtual meeting craze.

During the Zoom mania, JanbyJan’s corporate bright and clean lined suits and jackets caused a spectacular boom throughout the pandemic. Her orders just kept coming in.

Juanita does her own fabric sourcing and content creating. She oversees quality control, production management and customer care. Safe to say, she is a financial and creative mastermind running the JanbyJan’s Empire. One can’t help but be concerned at how she can retain full control and provide the technical missile to continue to produce consistently beautiful collections.

Season after season the collections continue to make headlines, despite her entrepreneurial challenges in Nigeria. For instance; power supply; increasing customer demand and quality control needing more attention to detail. There is just no time to relax.

I hasten to add, that I (the writer) as a female entrepreneur, do empathize with the strain of running a fashion label in Nigeria, and still being able to maintain a profit. In 2013, I had a swimwear and lingerie showroom in Lekki, and it was hard to prevent the business from falling from the seams.

However when Juanita’s creations come into life on her website and Instagram @JanbyJan she quickly forgets the challenges and returned where she belonged – in the forefront of JanbyJan and her gorgeous fashion designs.

JanbyJan is having a six year anniversary sale from the 21st to the 24th of October 2021. Make sure you’re there as things will sell fast.

Also, ‘mums the word’. Look out for JanbyJan’s plus size and mother to be collection due for release by the end of the year.
