Nominee: Fashion Icon of the year 2019

Born in Malawi in 1973, Billie Zangewa originally trained in printmaking and graphic design before relocating to Johannesburg, South Africa in 1997, where she now lives and works.  She developed a skill for elaborate silk ‘paintings’ which she makes by hand. Billie’s work is honest, humorous and stunning with her pieces often depicting and centred on herself.
