President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have officially been sworn into office after taking the oath at an inauguration ceremony yesterday.

It was a very symbolic ceremony. We can tell you all about the political symbolism but we are here for the fashion. Even though it looked like the dress code was monochrome as everyone was dressed in one colour pieces. It was indeed Fashion worthy

From the Vice President Harris’ purple suit to Dr, Biden’s ocean blue Markarian dress. Michelle Obama’s wore head-to-toe plum ensemble while J. Lo continued the trend in her all-white ensemble. Hillary Clinton was sported head-to-toe violet alongside Harris. Biden’s granddaughters Naomi, Natalie, Finnegan, and Maisy wore white, pink, tan, and black respectively while his daughter Ashley sported all navy.

The choice to wear one single colour from head-to-toe was simple, very flattering and highly elegant in its ability to elongate one’s silhouette. That being said, here are our favourites from the event:

J.Lo  wore an all-white Chanel ensemble.

The look was symbolic of the women’s suffrage movement and an ode to Kamala Harris’ historic rise to Vice President of the United States.

The Vice President wore her signature pearls from Christopher John Rogers and her three-piece suit is from Sergio Hudson. Douglas Emhoff wore Ralph Lauren.

The first lady Jill Biden wore a blue tweed coat from a colorado born designer, AlexandraONeil

Michelle  Obama wore a Sergio Hudson suit.

It was a memorable and historic event and we look forward to a great 4 years in office. Congratulations to Mr President and Madam VP.
