Shatu Garko, an 18-year-old model made history by becoming the first Hijab-wearing contestant to win the Miss Nigeria beauty pageant. Shatu was the youngest contestant and beat 17 others to emerge a winner.
Shatu loves horse riding and is passionate about proving that religion and culture are not barriers to following one’s dreams and achieving whatever a person sets out to achieve.
