Everything You Should Know About the 94th Oscar Awards

It’s safe to say that this year’s 94th annual Academy Awards won’t be like the subsequent ones. COVID lockdowns, masking, and social distancing have made it impossible to hold a “traditional” Oscar Awards for the last two years.

2021 Oscars were held in April; this year they’re being held in late March. Netflix’s “The Power of the Dog” leads the nominations, with 12; with his best actor nomination for “The Tragedy of Macbeth,” Denzel Washington became the most-nominated Black actor in history.

There’s a lot still up to know. Be sure to bookmark this page, as we’ll update it when more information becomes available!

But as for now, this is what you need to know:

    •  The 94th Academy Awards will be held on 27 March from 5 pm PT. The ceremony will broadcast live on ABC.
    • Last year, the ceremony was held at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles, but this time around it will return to its home since 2002: the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center.
    • The exact format of the 2022 Oscars is not yet known, though the Academy has announced that Emmy-winner Glenn Weiss will be directing the show for the seventh consecutive year. Meanwhile, Girls Trip’s Will Packer will be the show’s producer.
    • About the hosts, We have suggestions, but no one has been officially announced. The show hasn’t had a host since 2018, but ABC has confirmed there will be someone in the emcee slot … or possibly more than one person.  A publication added that Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Maya Rudolph are being considered as a trio, as are Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short.
    • For the dress code, The 2022 Oscars should have a full-scale red carpet so expect the usual glams of show-stopping ball gowns, sequined capes, and louche suiting.
    • This is the full list of the Nominee at the 2022 Oscar awards:
