Popular Japanese designer and founder of the fashion brand Kenzo has died of complications linked to the Corona Virus at the age of 81.

Kenzo, who died at an American hospital in Paris was known for his bright graphics,  jungle inspired prints and unusual use of colours.

Kenzo who settled in Paris in the 1960s and spent the rest of his career there, was described by the Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo as “one of its son” stating that Paris is mourning the loss.

Tributes have poured in from all over the world as his death came during the ongoing Paris Fashion Week.
