Louis Vuitton, the top fashion brand in the LVMH luxury empire, announced that it is raising prices this week due to increased cost in production and global inflation. This decision will affect the cost of Louis Vuitton leather goods, accessories, and fragrances all over the world.
The price adjustment will take into account changes in production costs, raw materials, transportation as well as inflation.
The world’s largest luxury brand joins other prominent fashion houses like Hermès and Chanel to hike prices since the start of the pandemic to protect margins against inflation.
In 2020, the coronavirus forced companies to stop production for a large part of the year, sparking worldwide delays, the disruptions of which continue to ravage the supply chain system on an unprecedented global scale.
Louis Vuitton items are becoming less and less affordable, this ensures a certain exclusivity and this is exactly where the fashion house wants to go. Apart from the high prices, many items are not available online. One reason for this could be to lure everyone to the physical store and it seems to be working.
