Ghanian fashion brand, Pelliguen has made its intention known to take over the commercial cloth production is not only in Ghana but in Africa at large. It is a young and vibrant new fashion label targeted at quick-thinking young women of today who like to party with class. The brand is the brainchild of Nana Tamakloe, CEO of both FashionGHANA.com and Accra Fashion Week. Their intention was made evident at the Accra Fashion Week where they left the guests in awe of their stunning ‘denim with silver chain’ collection.
The motivation for them is to create a recreate the fashion in the ’90s and 2000s when Denim jeans clothes were the in thing.
The Creative Director of the brand Abena Sintime believed that there is a middle ground to find and execute a very easy-to-maintain set of clothes that are perfect for the local Ghanaian in the warm weather as well as appealing to the international audience. “You may want to go against your instinct to keep it looking new. But true denim should be worn so it can mold to your form, get softer and cultivate your personality” She said.
When asked if the brand has more denim in the future for its future patronizers, Abena Sintim replied “They is nothing in the plan for using denim again. We may or may not, we are here to satisfy the stylish end of society, and denim and silver chains felt right for this collection but as we prepare for the next, there is no telling we will apply it again.”
Pelliguen launched in 2021 with a team of expert creatives who came together to ensure their clients and patronizers feel the utmost beautiful and as sexy as possible. The brand said it is for the young, fabulous, and rich ladies of society.
