Popular rapper Cardi B on Tuesday filed for a divorce from her husband of 3 years, Offset.
The Bodak Yellow rapper filed a divorce petition at a Fulton County Court in Atlanta, Georgia.
Cardi, who is 27, stated to TMZ and People that the marriage was “irretrievably broken” and there are “no prospects for reconciliation“.
Although, it was earlier reported that she was seeking full physical and legal custody of their 2 year old daughter Kulture as well as spousal support from Offset; sources have said that Cardi was unaware that her lawyer phrased the petition so strongly and has instructed her lawyer to amend the petition to request for joint custody and she might not be taking spousal support from Offset as she has enough of her own money.
Cardi and Offset got married in a secret ceremony in 2017, and have had a tumultuous relationship to say the least, with Offset cheating on her quite a number of times and publicly apologising like he did during her set at Rolling Loud in December 2018.
The hearing of this case is scheduled for 4th of November.
Sources say that as of now, it is a contested divorce, which means offset is fighting against it.
