Emerging Fashion Brands to Know: Stylemejune

Stylemejune is a fashion styling and image consulting brand that helps women build their confidence through style. It is also adept at providing value for women through optimum wardrobe efficiency.

We had a chat with the beautiful CEO, Titilade Ilesanmi who is a commercial attorney and fashion stylist to get to know her and her brand and here is what she has to say:

Tell us about yourself?

My name is Titilade Adelekun Ilesanmi. I am an Image/Personal Style Consultant, Style Columnist and Commercial Attorney. I am a wife and a mom with 2 beautiful kids.

Tell us your brand story (how you started and where you are so far)

I started taking styling more seriously from the realisation that I enjoyed giving unsolicited style advice/tips to colleagues and friends when it comes to their outfits. For instance, I always made reference to probably a top they wore earlier and how it would have looked better with the skirts they are wearing now and so on. And when I started “Stylemejune” in 2018, it was more of a style blog. I posted random pictures of people in nice outfits and provided easy style tips but over time I knew I wanted to do more and give more. That was when I discovered a problem that I could easily solve with my skill.

The problem, however, was how the lack of a good personal style in women was affecting their self-esteem and confidence. For instance, I realised that some women had nice outfits but did not just know to pull the looks together. Some had nice clothes but were still not looking their best because it was not fit for their body type. Some just wore the wrong outfits for the wrong occasion etc. This adversely affected their self –esteem. So I did some research and the title, Image Consultant /Personal Style Consultant just felt right with my brand purpose and that was how I started a new path for Stylemejune. Currently, I still see myself as an emerging market and I cannot wait to have an army of women that I have helped build their self-esteem and confidence, just by simply making them take personal style seriously.

What is your background in fashion?

Not much, I went to fashion school during my holidays at the university to learn how to sew. I watched a lot of fashion shows growing up too because I wanted to be a supermodel at that time. I had lots of fashion magazines, which I literally only admired outfits. Over time, I found out that I was very much interested in fashion and style.

Tell us about your brand

My brand, Stylemejune is focused on helping the everyday woman restore her self-esteem, feel beautiful and confident by discovering her personal style and making her appreciate and love her body.

What makes your brand different from the other fashion brands?

Stylemejune seeks to empower women to look her best so that her self-esteem and confidence will be restored.  This consequently pushes her to follow her dreams and smash her personal or professional goals. so, I would say that what differentiates me from other brands is that we are all about helping women to achieve their dreams by improving their personal style.

What are your goals and aspiration for the next 5 years?

My goal in the next 5 years is to carve a niche in the fashion styling industry for every woman that feels timid and
less confident in herself as a result of her style and secondly, to develop a workable system where I would be able to reach out to you wherever you are in the country. You can get connected and fix whatever style problem you might have.

Who is/ are your role models in this business

Over time I have been drawn to a lot of people for different reasons but now, someone I really admire
in my line of business is Lauren Messiah.

What is your highest achievement in this career so far?

My greatest achievement is the feedback I’m getting from women telling me how their personal style has improved and their lives changed for the better. They think better of themselves after our meeting and they are now keen to pursue their dreams and goals. That is everything I hope to achieve in my line of business.

What advice will you give someone who is just starting out in this line of business?

I would tell someone who is just starting out to just start. Clarity comes from action. You would figure things out as you go and it will be fulfilling.
