Everything about us as social beings revolves around interaction. Interaction amongst ourselves, friends, families, anyone and everyone, whenever and wherever. It is important to know that no one is an island, though we ought to be independent in some ways we are still dependent on one another. To make life easier, to get better result, it is expedient that you connect yourself with people.

Networking goes beyond collection of contacts on different occasions, because some people have 1000 people on their contact list and cannot account for any meaningful relationship from it. Networking is an ongoing process of building relationship with people and if we do not know its importance or make it a priority, we are most likely not to be able to enjoy its numerous benefits.

Learn to explore, don’t look down on anyone, don’t be rude, start reasonable conversations. This does not mean that you should go around talking to everybody, of course you have the right to choose who you want to talk to but learn to keep up with people. It is not about hunting for who would help you but building lasting relations that exudes values.

It is so easy to get someone’s number; when you meet someone at a conference, seminar, business summit or a party and you like their vibe, or their presentation struck a cord, you push for an interesting conversation, and of course you exchange contacts However, that is definitely not all, and this is where we always loose hold. Follow up is needed here, you can put a call through few days after the event. Social media platforms have made it all easy, make good use of it. Share ideas, reconnect again in that way, you would not only relish the memories of the event together but also gain an acquaintance.

Always remember; Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much.
