Yara Shahidi is Christian Dior’s latest global brand and beauty ambassador, alongside Christian Serratos and Sam Visser. She has joined the league of other Dior brand ambassadors, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lawerence, and Cara Delevingne.
The 21-year-old actress is not a new face with the French luxury brand. She has worked with them earlier this year for International Women’s Day for “Dior Stands with Women,” a project created for female-led education by Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project.
On what she loves about the brand, Yara said that wearing the Dior foundations was one of the first experiences of not having to deal with breakouts but having a formula that really worked alongside her skin.
Yara also praised the Dior beauty line and its lovely eyeshadows.
She said: “ Their colored liners and shadows are out of this world! Where I used to be in my room mixing pigments together, trying to figure out how to get a certain color. Now I have everything at my fingertips.”
When asked what she will bring to the table, she said: “Hopefully I will bring playfulness to a space that is often so serious.
Yara Shahidi is a full-time student at Harvard University where she is earning a B.A. in Social Studies and African American studies. She uses her social media platform to support #BlackLivesMatter.
